Jingyi & Brian

Brian (B) and Jingyi (J) are both members of B Swing Lindy, an organization which teaches and performs Lindy Hop and Swing Dance in Singapore. B has been dancing since 2001 and J since 2012. They, like Lindy Hop, have good lead and follow and emphasise the importance of communication during dancing. On the side, B likes tricky steps while J likes tricky rhythms. They are both excellent solo jazz dancers and love 1920s Charleston. They look for ways to respect the traditional forms of Lindy Hop and Jazz Dance, while exploring new means to choreograph, teach and dance while still staying true and respectful to the values and systems that have come before them in this wonderful African-American danceform.
